1993 Crimson Guard Commander - Around The Web

There are a couple of 1993 figures that had excellent figure molds.  In some cases, they were molds that were done well enough that they would stand with figures from the 1980's in terms of quality.  But, they were poorly colored.  Figures like the Crimson Guard Commander have incredible potential and, with slightly different colors, would have been amazing figures.

  1. Interesting with the Stun...they match it more than Motor-Viper.

The wrist rockets were curious, as if lifted from an unused new Destro design. The Cobra Collector's Plate strapped to hims with tm on it was always a little silly.

My thing with the CG Commander mold is that the big face plate is too viper-esque, maybe even Cobra Commander v1 like. These guys are a mesh of Cobra Commander, Destro, the twins, the basic CG and Cobra Officer. There was never a replacement for Cobra Officer, these guys and Cyber-Viper were the closest thing to generic cobra field officers.

  2. I painted the face shield silver and all the yellow parts black. Looks much better!
