I had zero problems with updating the 84 version with a newer one, and i suppose, i am of the very small minority who didn't really care about the obnoxious colors being produced at the time. For me , GI Joe was as much a microcosm of various comic books. At least in terms of the characters being larger than life supervillain types moreso than real world terrorists. The concept of GI Joe, to me, was military based but with the sci fi/comic book tones sweeping throughout. The exception to that rule was Cobra-La.....i hated it and thought that was poorly executed. But thats a story for another time. Firefly getting his update brought him front and center back into the forefront of Cobra villainy. I didn't buy into the ninja concept being peddled in comic around that time, i just thought of this as an evolution of his outfit and nothing more. But it captivated me enough to bring the character back into the fold of my Joeverse after a time of being rarely used anymore. My only regret with this mold, is that i never had this 93 color pattern. After seeing your pics and reading your input, I've got to place this Firefly up there on my short list of Joes (93/94 era) that i never owned as a kid. Its just a stunning figure in my opinion. the brian viperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12584748652867285818noreply@blogger.com
