And the carry forwards had the same packaging as the year before. I figured out who was still being shipped by what was in stores and from a toy magazine from 1992 that listed the 1992 figures and those 6, this was when toy magazine had brief info and months after Toy Fair ended. I saw some scans of 1992 Hasbro catalog a couple of years back that confirmed it, too.

Fall of 1991 must've been a good selling year, because finding any 1991 figure leftovers the next years was hard. I wanted more CGI's and Desert Scorpions, none were to be found. I also skipped on the Air Commandos in 1991, so I never got Skymate and barely found Sky Creeper in 1992, so I'm pretty sure neither shipped with the 1992 Air Commandos. But Night Vulture and Cloudburst were readily available. But the 1992 card backs showed all 6 releases. Go figure.

Sludge Viper with chest/face damage (Not in good shape) http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Hasbro-GiJoe-G-I-Joe-Eco-Warriors-Sludge-Viper-Action-Figure-2-/401054558183?hash=item5d60b6e7e7:g:n1EAAOSwGotWlh1OA-Mannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1730351558727980814.post-79247656690825487312016-07-03T19:17:27.333-07:002016-07-03T19:17:27.333-07:00Never knew about the variant. Something else to look for.

Back in '98 and '99, it was nearly impossible to find any basic carded '91's except for the figs you mentioned. Eco Warriors were a bit easier to find, too. The later seems less common, but given the placement of the color change paint, probably less desirable.

As some who collected in 1991, Sludge-Viper was initially hard to find for me. Later very common, I think all the 1991 figures reshipped in 1992 (unlike the basic assortment, where only six 1991 figures were carried forward: Snake-Eyes, Sci-Fi, Red Star, Heavy Duty, Snow Serpent and BAT)
A-Mannoreply@blogger.com
