Here, a character created by Stephen King that looks like Vincent Price! The 1987 series also had Chuckles looking like Don Johnson as the story goes, and Gung-Ho in Marine dress blues. It was full of gimmicky or shelf, non-action figures. On that regard, I think Crystal Ball is highly collectible, especially on card.cappecahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07051401344699675551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1730351558727980814.post-71676642226480567842021-05-10T00:31:09.772-07:002021-05-10T00:31:09.772-07:00Crystal Ball was an eccentric weirdo who could rea...Crystal Ball was an eccentric weirdo who could read minds and use telekinesis. whats not to likeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1730351558727980814.post-27342960855015704762021-04-06T14:59:46.817-07:002021-04-06T14:59:46.817-07:00I see Crystal Ball in a group with Dr. Venom (brai...I see Crystal Ball in a group with Dr. Venom (brainwave), Dr. Mindbender (torture), Crystal Ball (hypnosis) and the Interrogator (talking).

I also used his head for a custom Wolverine. I'd really love the full story of the design team around '87 and '88 as there seems to have been some infighting on which way the line would go.Robot_Sonichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14046347432548886565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1730351558727980814.post-78523207091300256262021-04-06T10:46:17.513-07:002021-04-06T10:46:17.513-07:00I didn't realize he was mentioned in the Tommy...I didn't realize he was mentioned in the Tommyknockers. That's fun info and shows that King was all about promoting his contributions. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, for sure.) I know King has a large and dedicated fanbase. But, they haven't seemed to latch on to Crystal Ball as a piece of King epherma.Robot_Sonichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14046347432548886565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1730351558727980814.post-47174588173451335392021-04-06T10:18:10.254-07:002021-04-06T10:18:10.254-07:00Crystal Ball does indeed suck. The head might work on a vampire custom, if you're into that sort of thing, but I generally find that head off-putting.

Also, Dr. Mindbender exists, came first, is already a "Master of Mind Control", and is just as ridiculous looking yet somehow works without totally sucking. Meaning we don't need Crystal Ball. Joe. One of the brothers is talking about the best G.I. Joes and of course he mentions Snake Eyes but he also mentions Crystal Ball as being the best. I thought it was a funny little nod to King's contributions. I've always thought Crystal Ball's weakness was that he didn't have any clear offensive weaponry and the same goes for Raptor and Big Boa. For a military action toyline it's kind of tough to get excited about a figure who possesses no real means to attack their enemy.
