Are the best of all knock offs. SSADSIT have some really cool and unique figures like 'Hidden Force' and 'Wolf Man' Videoranger007https://www.blogger.com/profile/13021034690025439282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1730351558727980814.post-67027458981329956152018-12-07T01:10:53.275-07:002018-12-07T01:10:53.275-07:00Having looked for Power Commandos for the past yea...Having looked for Power Commandos for the past year or so, as near as I can tell there are two different versions of each of the 1992 figures (Condor Strike, Red Raven, Metal Hawk, Mummy Mask, Submarine and X-Ray Eye), all of them in 2-packs. For my own reference I call them Series 1.0 and Series 1.5. I've managed to collect 10 of them, and I've seen that the different versions didn't all have the same accessories, although this may just be a function of normal variation. Then there is ANOTHER seldom mentioned and seen series of two packs of the same style and vintage (Communicator, Nite Serpent, Sniper, Sound Speed, Lynx Eye Jack and Laser Cut) that again for my own reference I refer to as Series 2. I've got 5 of them. An amusing note about Sound Speed is that he is referred to on a popular web site as "Soud Speed" and consequently I've seen this figure show up on a lot of other discussion sites being referred to by this name. Such is the expertise and authority (deserved, I will add) of that original web site, that collectors even take its obvious typos as gospel! And then there is what I'm calling Series 3, which by trade mark came out in 1995, all as single packs. Another six figures, they are all somewhat dramatic repaints of the Series 2 figures, except Sniper is a repaint of the Series 1 figure Submarine for some reason. I have all 6 of these figures. As near as I can tell, they have the same accessories as their Series 2 counter-parts. A lot of commenters make fun of the "Those Guys From Another Galaxy!" motto on the packaging, and the somewhat funky character profiles. I think the translation has to be taken into consideration here. It's probable the translation was attempted word-by-word by someone with some English language skills, albeit very limited, and unfortunately for them, translation is not a word-by-word process. "Those Guys From Another Galaxy" might have started out as something far more threatening in the original language like "Extra-Galactic Warrior Invaders" for example.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04657888422350061649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1730351558727980814.post-3592357632645029902018-12-04T13:14:27.037-07:002018-12-04T13:14:27.037-07:00That does prove they were available in the U.S. T...That does prove they were available in the U.S. They must have been sparse, though, since they don't pop up with the frequency of other bootlegs. Though, that may be a function of their release year, too.Robot_Sonichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14046347432548886565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1730351558727980814.post-24319013152748646982018-12-04T13:13:37.400-07:002018-12-04T13:13:37.400-07:00Mummy Mask is great. I love the very Manhua-style card art on these, and really like the kitbashed weapons - They add some flair that puts these above the usual knock-offs. I dig X-Ray eye, but his partner in crime, Mummy Mask, is a real gem. Glad you're diving in to these!Nas Helewahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16379727791875415792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1730351558727980814.post-40328640621800035162018-12-04T09:27:20.800-07:002018-12-04T09:27:20.800-07:00The only figure I own is SUBMARINE, yes, the lames...The only figure I own is SUBMARINE, yes, the lamest of them all. He was the repaint with blue pants. I found him marked down, missing his pack mate at a McCrory's in 1994. I'd never heard of them before and never saw any afterwards. They were such a cruel taunt, because I liked Joe knock-offs (at least when they aren't total garbage).A-Mannoreply@blogger.com
