Chuckles is a figure that should be terrible but is kind of fun. His holster and pistol are excellent accessories. And, his outfit is a nice way to get a civilian-esque figure into the line. I've long used him as my de facto prisoner figure. And, for that reason, I have a about half a dozen of him. Here's the best on him from around the web.

Wish Chuckles had dark pants like in the animated movie. He's really only convincing as an undercover operative from the waist up.

ReplyDelete1 deco that pretty much any Chuckles action figure hasn't had yet(As far as I know) is 1 actually based on the 1987 animated movie, where he had a White Hawaiian T-shirt, and Blue Jeans/Pants.
ReplyDeleteI will say that during the 4" Pursuit Of Cobra Line, which included the idea of various Joes and Cobra's in Gear/Clothing for Jungle, Desert, Arctic, and Urban theme, that Chuckles could of be of the few Joes that they did for all 4 Environments. All 4 could be for undercover or surveillance purposes for each mission, as there are ways I think to still have his Trademark Hawaiian Shirts.
I'm sure Jungle and maybe Desert could of work with a standard look, just with different colour Hawaiian Shirts and pants, something that looks good for local market places in villages and such. Green Hawaiian T-shirt and maybe shorts or Green Pants for Jungle, and a Tan Hawaiian T-shirt and Khakis for Desert, with maybe even some sort of Desert Head Covering Accessory(Think something like the head covering accessory that some of the Star Wars: Rogue One Jyn Erso figures came with).
For Urban, he could wear something like main characters in the 1998 at Night At The Roxbury movie, or something similar to Don Johnson's character wore in Miami Vice, with a Hawaiian Shirt underneath the flashy open jacket. Since at that time, Hasbro was doing working molded gun holsters, maybe find a way to have the Gun Holster molded inside the jacket.
For Arctic, I think in order to show his Hawaiian Shirt underneath the Jacket, the Jacket would have to either be only open for a bit to show a bit of the shirt, or fully open.
As well, during the Spytroops years, they could of used Chuckles for the line as well, as I'm sure they would of even given him some undercover snap on armour to look like a trooper, as the character would of made sense for the whole undercover theme of the line. Mind you, who knows if Hasbro would of keep his trademark Hawaiian T-shirt, since at the time, Hasbro would sometimes omit certain trademark looks for some characters here and there to try and give them a more up to date look. And given how some of the figure sculpts were kind of big and sometimes a bit buff, the figure would of looked at bit more like how he did during the 1987 animated movie and the 1980's-1990's Marvel Comics.
