The Power Commandos have been common knowledge since the earliest days of the online Joe community. There were early collectors who had them and would, occasionally, talk about them to raise awareness. But, the characters never really took ahold of the collecting zeitgeist. In the late 2010's, though, a ton of carded Power Commandos became available for cheap prices. This allowed many newer collectors to own the figures. And, you began to see more uses of the characters. Now, almost 30 years since those early days, the Power Commandos have built their niche among Joe collectors.
You now see the figures used among Joes and appear with enough frequency that their photos are rarely accompanied by queries as to the origins of the figure. As you can see from the links below, there's some good content featuring Metal Hawk. Metal Hawk is my second favorite figure from the second series of Power Commandos: behind Mummy Mask. He's weird, bizarre and looks good in certain situations. I have fun using him in various environments. I hope to do more with him this winter, too. But, for Halloween, here's another spooky weirdo that is worth adding to your collection.
