The Headhunter is simply a great figure. He's got a spectacular mold, solid colors and exceptional gear. Back in the late 1990's, he was also nearly impossible to find as a loose figure. Slowly, though, that changed and pretty much everyone can enjoy this figure today. So much so that they're pretty popular and expensive. But, they remain a favorite of mine. Here's the best of him from around the web.

I recently picked up one of these guys. Fairly hard to find. Hard to army build. Great figure. Looks good with the Maggot and WORMS.
ReplyDeleteI remember back in the late 90's, not many people cared about DEF or the 90's stuff. The whole "anything made after whatever year I abandoned the line as a kid sucks" mentality was common. Maybe an exaggeration. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteI also recall going to a new TRU opened in like 1994 and they put out DEF stuff. $2.50 a figure, IIRC. Funny how early Joes have gone up in price, but mid-late Star Wars is mostly worthless. I suppose more SW stuff shipped and more people hoarded it MOC. But GI JOE was still everywhere in the early 90's...not really until 1994's series did things seem to get harder to find at retail, those two Star Brigade waves.
Awesome villain. Besides Headman all of the 1992 DEF Figures were excellent. I had to pay a little more to get them as a kid but they were worth it.
