1992 Wild Bill - Around The Web

The 1992 Wild Bill figure is one of those great mold updates that is somewhat obscured by the color scheme.  Were he in vintage colors, he would be one of the most sought after figures from his year.  But, the figure still has tremendous value and is a worthwhile addition to every collection.  Here's the best of him from around the web.

  1. It is interesting the card art has his arms bare, but the figures are yellow. No repaint of the molds has exposed arms, either.

  2. If I had saw this figure back in 1993, I would of most like realized it was the "Cowboy Helicopter Pilot"(Didn't know Wild Bill's name at the time), as he still had a bit of the cowboy look to him. In terms of pants, I think I prefer the 1992 Black Pants, but the White Pants of 1993 is still good.

I like how this figure had a removable hat as well.

The Blue shirt and Orangey-Yellow ascot/bandana neck scarf reminds me of Wild Bill's Sunbow colours, since he wore a Blue Jumpsuit and Orange Vest in the cartoon, when compared to the Version 1 figure's Green and Brown colours.

I must say that I liked how in the 1990's, some of the pervious Joes who were Drivers of vehicles from the 1980's(Who were only available in vehicles) got released as Single Carded figures in retail, regardless if they were repaints, or a new mold. This way, people could buy that character in store and enjoy them, and put them with the other vehicles that were coming out at the time as well. Or later down the road when buying vehicles 2nd hand without a driver.
