This Dusty has gotten somewhat pricey in recent times. A lower production run, easily broken thumbs and crotches and an easily lost bi-pod all add up to mint and complete specimens selling for a premium. But, if you can find one, he's a useful figure to have around. So, check the links below to see how others have used him in their collections.

1988 Tiger Force Dusty - Around The Web Part 2
This Tiger Force Dusty was one my first Around The Web features back in 2015. Since then, there's a lot more content on him that's out there. This version of Dusty is a nice alternate look for the character. It's still desert enough that he's not limited into the Tiger Force theme. And, you can use him in other environments, too.

I was an instant fan of the original Dusty as a kid, but it took a looong time for the TF version to grow on me (I still can't honestly say that I love him).
ReplyDeleteWhat I do appreciate is (a) given that his color scheme is SO different from the original Dusty and (b) the fact that his lack of face camo gives this one a completely different look from the original, it's possible to view/use the TF Dusty as a completely new character if one is so inclined (even more so for Felino, if you've got one).
I will say that I prefer Felino to the TF Dusty...primarily because the color scheme is a bit more unified. Individually, I don't mind the dark and olive drab shades of green used on the TF Dusty...I just don't think that they look all-that visually appealing when placed next to each other on the same figure. All just a matter of personal taste, though.
I've found the Tiger Force Dusty to be the rarest of the Tiger Force figures (outpacing both Flint and the drivers), which is a shame because it looks like a real nice figure
ReplyDeleteI'd really like to find the Tiger Force case breakdown. With 7 carded figures, some figures had to be shortpacked, etc. The Toy Fair catalog still lists the case as 6 figures. (We'll see more about that later this month.) That info might give insight into the lower availability of some of the figures.
