1994 Shadow Ninja Snake Eyes - Around The Web

I had to dig deep on this one.  Few people ever showcase the Shadow Ninjas.  Their alternate construction makes them tough to pose.  So, they aren't overly conducive to dioramas and photos.  But, I was able to find a decent amount of content on this figure out there.  You can see the figure in his various stages of color transformation, too.  I still say this Snake Eyes mold has the best head of any Snake Eyes figure.  It's just too difficult to use in customs.  But, the overall design is strong and would have been an amazing figure in standard Joe construction.

  2. Never thought I'd hear that this guy has the best Snake Eyes head. I'm forever biased towards V2, but I also think v4 was pretty great. I can appreciate V1 for its subtle simplicity. V3 was not great; Snake Eyes looked like he was wearing tiny swimming goggles and a single huge headphone over one ear. At least the V3 card art had a much more interesting head with cat eye goggles that looked like they could be used as a bladed weapon!

V5 reminds me of a Foot Clan ninja.

  3. What do you make of these yellowed figures from Bankok on eBay? Do you think it is merely a result of storage in that climate or are these prototypes of some sort? I'm not seeing any of the lavender apps (at least not left). These guys look like they would be at home in the Well of Souls playset...

    1. Definitely heat damage. It looks like they turned permanently white and also yellowed. I see a lot of US based figures that are discoloring these days, too. And, a lot of the Shadow Ninjas have permanent color changes that even hot and cold water won't fix.
