1993 Mirage - Around the Web

Mirage is a one of the great examples of excellent '90's sculpting that was ruined by less than stellar colors.  But, within a decade, Hasbro repainted the figure several times and created some of the best re-releases of the 2000's.  The Mega Marines have taken on a bit of an afterlife in recent years and have become somewhat popular.  Mirage always lead the way, though, and was the first Mega Marine to really get a following...mostly due to those 2000's era repaints.  Here's the best of the Mirage figure around the web.

  1. While I love the clear version, this profile really convinced me what a great figure this is.I actually think the blue lends itself quite well to the mold. The other versions seem really drab by comparison, despite their more realistic colors. Not sure whats' going on there with the gloves/gauntlets, but they are just screaming for some kind of detailed paint job. I like the blue goggles, all the other versions have a clear or opaque appearance. Also not sure whats going on with the figure's web gear. Are those supposed to be smoke grenades ? In any case that's another area that could use more detail. While I
am being picky, the belt could also use a more detailed paint application, even the transparent version had that !
