1994 Stalker - Around the Web

I found this Stalker figure at retail back in the mid 1990's.  I was immediately taken with the design.  It was true to the Stalker character and included a ton of excellent accessories that were new to me at the time.  Since then, the figure has retained its importance to me.  It's one of the best Stalkers and is a great update to a character who debuted in 1982.  He remains my go to version of Stalker and sees tons of use in various photos.  Here's the best of the figure from around the web.

    1. The more I think about that era, the more I think that Hasbro really was inept and we were too overjoyed at anything to really see it. The club guys also really did a number on collectors and stopped some great figures from getting made. And, the brand managers openly hated vintage Joes, so we really never had a chance. Thanks, man. Now, I'm pissed off all over again. ;)

    2. No, the head was never reused. The Desert Patrol set has the Tundra Ranger head (ironic?).

My amusing story about 1994 Stalker is that my older brother got the figure before I did (he was on the east coast, and they got stuff sooner than the midwest). He wasn't a collector at the time, but he was a big Stalker fan, so he got that figure. He described Stalker's boots and thigh pad as appearing to be made from pool toy/flotation devices. Reminds of how some of the figure details at the time were random and odd.

    3. I'm still disappointed that Hasbro didn't repaint Battle Corps Duke green.

  2. i’d like to warp back to 2004 when the klub was riding high on the hog and tell them their run will end with them pumping out knock off quality remakes of sonic fighters road pig

  3. The lack of paint apps really hurts this figure for me. I can forgive the unpainted watch but not the odd folds of skin on his neck.

  4. This mold looks like a Battle Force 2000 concept that didn't make the cut.The legs and boots scream Dee Jay, while the torso's armor has a real Maverick look to it. The choker on his neck is indeed odd.The muted colors are good. but the lack of paint details betray it's 94 pedigree.
